Parsec Markdown

Privacy Policy  ·  Last updated: February 2026

Overview

Parsec Markdown is a Chrome extension that converts web pages to Markdown. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension accesses, how it is used, and what is never collected.

Data We Do Not Collect

Parsec Markdown does not:

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The extension stores the following data only on your device using chrome.storage.local:

This data never leaves your device and can be deleted at any time via the extension's Settings page ("Clear history").

Third-Party API — markdown.new

When you use the Auto or Cloud conversion method, the extension sends the URL of the current page to the markdown.new API (operated by ScrapingAPI Ltd, powered by Cloudflare). The page URL is transmitted solely to perform the Markdown conversion.

Please review the markdown.new Privacy Policy for details on how they handle URLs.

Permissions Used

Offline Mode

When using the Offline conversion method, all processing happens entirely on your device using the Turndown library. No network requests are made.

Children's Privacy

This extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the extension constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
